You’re tired. Am I right? I get it. It happens. In fact, I told you recently, that I resigned from the mom hustle. That’s why I’m giving you 10 Parenting Memes That Will Make Even Exhausted Parents Laugh Out Loud
Moms have the most difficult job in the world
Do you recall that video that went viral a few years ago? It streamed a live job interview with candidates applying for the position of Director of Operations. An advertisement was posted across newspapers looking for candidates with qualifications or experience in finance, medicine and culinary arts.
In the video, the interviewer explains the extensive requirements of the role, such as mobility ie, standing up, bending, running all the time – for a minimum of 135 hours a week up to 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
There would be no breaks, no vacations, and an expected increase in workload during holidays – all in exchange for the immeasurable satisfaction of working with associates who need constant attention.
The responses of the interviewees were mostly unanimous in that the conditions of the position were inhuman.
It wasn’t long before it became clear that the job was actually for a mother.
Step-parents get the shittiest jobs
Often, if not always, they are seen as those people who have broken the family or are trying to replace the other parent. They tend to children who are, at times, stroppy, refuse to listen, and insist on doing the opposite of contributing to a happy household.
Whether you’re the stepmom or the stepdad, you’ve kinda got the short end of the stick. Don’t worry – you can nod – no one will see. Go ahead.
Today, this mom is tired; and I’m not even the step parent. I can’t even begin to think of what Wayne, my partner, has to put up with – and how he does it.
So this one is for you.
