Okay, so I finally caved and bought myself an Instant Pot. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about and my goodness, I have to say that I am so, so, so happy with it! The first recipe I tried was for Instant Pot Pork Chops. I thought it would be good to try it out because – 1. we won a meat tray at a raffle in our local pub and it had some pork. I never know what to do with pork, so it was perfect! And 2. if it sucked, then I could blame the recipe as a fail! Oh was I in for a treat!
So for those who aren’t familiar with the Instant Pot, let me first say that Instant Pot is a brand. As a kitchen appliance, it’s an electric pressure cooker, which comes in a variety of other brands like Crock Pot and Cuisinart. Does anyone else remember those old style pressure cookers? They used to scare me, so I never, never bothered to even keep one in my kitchen cupboards.
Anyway, getting back to the Pork Chops – just look at this. I’m just gonna leave that here for a moment. These were so tender and juicy. The liquid smoke really did a number on it, and I was really pleased with the flavor.
Like I said, I don’t really cook pork because I don’t really eat pork. But having tried this, I think it’s the other way around in that I didn’t used to eat much pork, because I didn’t know how to cook it! Well, how ’bout that, eh?
This was super easy to make. Prep time was about 10 minutes, and cook time was minutes. Crazy!
My husband is a real lover of pork, and he absolutely loved this dish! As did the kids, who can be real fussy!
While the pork chops were cooking for seven minutes… yes, you read that right. 7-MINUTES! I decided to stir fry some asparagus, capsicums, and mushrooms in the Air Fryer – just another kitchen gadget that has blown me away.
This has really, really changed my cooking regime. It’s given me back at least an hour back each day. I’m super pleased with it.
Are you ready to give it a go? Trust me, you won’t regret it!
