Harry Potter Themed Birthday Party
Are you kids as obsessed with Harry Potter as mine are? I thought their interest would fade sooner rather than later, but here they are at 11 and 13 years old still going on about Harry Potter. My older one has progressed on to Harry Potter gear but still interested in it just the same. My little one is going to be celebrating her birthday soon, so we’ve been doing some party planning. I’m sure you can guess what theme we’re going for, right? I’ve been doing so much research in preparation for her big day and I thought – why not share it with you?! So here you go – The Ultimate Guide to Hosting a Harry Potter Themed Birthday Party!
I’ve broken this post down into the following segments:
- Invitations
- Decorations
- Food & Drink
- Activities
- Party Favors
Harry Potter Themed Birthday Party: Invitations
DIY Harry Potter Owl Invitations
It all starts with a creative invitation! One Creative Mommy has a great tutorial on how to create these inventive Harry Potter Invitations, including information on the font and text. See it here.

Harry Potter Invitations
If you don’t want to DIY the invitations, you can always go for readily printed invitations. These come in a pack of 8, so you may need to double your order if you’re inviting more kids. Personally, I put my effort into the actual party over the invitations, so these suit me perfectly fine.
